| What is Infrared Thermography? Infrared thermography is the most effective and efficient technique for surveying electrical equipment for components that have deteriorated and become defective. Faulty assembly/installation, normal wear, chemical contamination, corrosion, or all of the above can lower the conductivity and raise the component resistance level of the component in question It is a non-contact procedure that identifies components that are hotter than they should be, (i.e. faulty electrical wiring) or components suffering from excessive heat loss (usually a sign of faulty inadequate insulation). It is ideal for electrical equipment, distribution panels, roof systems, motors, refractory materials, and transmission lines.
